Editorial Policy & Review Process

Our purpose
Menopause Resource Hub exists to make menopause and perimenopause easier to navigate—by offering clear, evidence-informed information and a curated directory of relevant support. We write for women who want practical guidance, not overwhelm.

Important note
All information on this website is general in nature and does not replace personalised medical advice. If you have symptoms that worry you or are getting worse, please seek support from a qualified healthcare professional.

How we create content

  • Research first: We start with reputable sources such as Australian and international health organisations, peer-reviewed research, and established clinical guidance.
  • Plain language: We translate complex health topics into practical, respectful language.
  • Safety and balance: We avoid sensational claims and highlight when evidence is mixed or limited.
  • Helpful over hype: Our goal is to help women make informed decisions—not to push products, clinics, or “one-size-fits-all” solutions.

Our review levels

Not every page requires the same level of review. We use two review types:

  • Editorial Review (all pages): Clarity, accuracy checks, source quality, internal consistency, and ensuring we do not present medical advice as personalised guidance.
  • Clinical Review (where appropriate): For high-impact medical topics (e.g., MHT/HRT, red-flag symptoms, diagnosis pathways, medication discussions), we seek review by an appropriately qualified clinician.

Updates and freshness

  • We review cornerstone guides on a scheduled basis and update content when guidelines change or new evidence warrants it.
  • Each guide should display a published date and last updated date.

Authorship and accountability

  • We aim to clearly show who wrote a piece, who reviewed it (where applicable), and when it was last updated.
  • We separate educational content from provider advertising and paid placements.

AI and tools

We may use AI-assisted tools to support drafting, summarising, and improving readability. Where AI tools are used, the final content is reviewed by a human editor, and we remain responsible for accuracy and safety.

Conflicts of interest

  • If content or listings are sponsored, we clearly label it.
  • Sponsorship never overrides our standards for eligibility or what we publish as factual guidance.
  • Directory listing tiers: We offer three listing options — Free Standard Listing (unclaimed), Verified Provider, and Featured Listing. Listing options may affect visibility and placement in the directory, but do not affect eligibility, inclusion decisions, or editorial content, and do not imply endorsement or recommendation.
