Meet Sam Lluisé: Menopause Naturopath
Sam Lluisé is a menopause naturopath in Australia, BHSc-qualified and the founder of Lotus Women’s Health, delivering every consultation through secure telehealth. She specialises in perimenopause and menopause, helping women make sense of what is actually happening in their bodies during this transition and building a plan that goes beyond simply pushing through it, including personalised nutrition and lifestyle support through the Metabolic Balance program.
About Sam
In plain terms: Sam is a menopause naturopath who helps women understand the hormonal changes driving their symptoms, then builds a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan around them, backed by evidence rather than guesswork.
Consultations are unhurried and delivered entirely by telehealth, with no waiting room and no rushed ten-minute appointment. Sam works through hormonal symptoms in detail, combines that with personalised nutrition and lifestyle support, and gives clients someone they can be completely honest with about a life stage that already comes with enough performing like everything is fine.
She is a Founding Provider of Menopause Resource Hub. You can find her directory listing here: Sam Lluisé, Lotus Women’s Health.
Why this work
Sam did not choose this field off a list. It found her, several hospital visits at a time.
PMDD in her twenties. Fibroids not long after. Years of being told her results looked fine while she felt anything but. Then a hysterectomy in her early forties, a partial thyroidectomy, a neck cancer diagnosis, and an ongoing relationship with Hashimoto’s and fibromyalgia that she still manages today.
“Conventional medicine did what it could, and I’m genuinely grateful for the parts that saved my life. But it was never built for what comes after the crisis: the actual, unglamorous work of feeling well again. That’s where naturopathy found me. For the first time, someone looked at the whole picture instead of just the loudest symptom. Slowly, I got my energy back. My balance back. My sense of humour back.”
That experience is the reason Sam does this work. She knows what it is like to sit in a waiting room feeling unheard, and what it feels like to get your life back. No one has to work this stage out alone.

Sam’s approach to menopause naturopathy
Sam’s approach centres on personalised nutrition and lifestyle support, including the Metabolic Balance program, alongside working through hormonal symptoms with an evidence-based approach rather than a generic protocol.
She is upfront that she is not a polished, sanitised wellness voice. She says what she actually thinks, uses humour, sometimes a lot of it, and brings her own experience of being dismissed by medical professionals into how she shows up for clients. Women who work with Sam often say they feel they can finally be honest with her, that she does not flinch, sugar-coat, or rush them past what they are actually going through.
What Sam wants women to understand about perimenopause and menopause
Asked what she most wishes more people understood, Sam’s answer is direct.
“It’s not one uniform experience with a tidy checklist of symptoms, and it’s not something you have to white-knuckle through with zero support until it’s over. There’s a lot that can genuinely be done nutritionally and hormonally to change how this stage feels. Suffering in silence isn’t a rite of passage, it’s just what happens when nobody’s told you there were other options.”
According to Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, around four in five women experience symptoms during the menopause transition, yet many still describe reaching this stage with no real preparation for what it would feel like. For Sam, the first step is telling women there were other options all along.
On collaboration with other practitioners
Sam is clear that no single practitioner can cover a stage of life that touches this much.
“Menopause touches everything: hormones, mental health, pain, metabolism, relationships, sleep, so no single practitioner has the full picture on their own. I’m a big believer in working alongside GPs, gynaecologists, pelvic health physios, psychologists, whoever else is part of someone’s care team, so the person in the middle of it isn’t left piecing together conflicting advice by themselves. Collaboration means better outcomes and a lot less falling through the cracks.”
Every consultation with Sam is unhurried and deeply personalised, delivered via secure telehealth wherever a client is in Australia, the kind of care most women have never experienced in a conventional ten-minute appointment. Naturopathic care sits alongside, not in place of, the GPs, gynaecologists and other specialists who may also be part of a woman’s care, which is the same idea the Menopause Resource Hub directory is built around: women rarely need just one practitioner, they need a team that talks to each other.
On being part of Menopause Resource Hub
“Being part of a collective that’s actually saying the real things, not another sanitised corner of the wellness internet. I want women to be able to find honest, evidence-based, occasionally funny support in one place, instead of having to sift through a hundred vague Instagram infographics to find someone who’ll tell them the truth.”

Frequently asked questions
What does a menopause naturopath do?
A menopause naturopath supports women through perimenopause and menopause using nutrition, herbal medicine and lifestyle strategies. Naturopathic care is not a substitute for medical treatment, it works alongside the care provided by GPs, gynaecologists and other specialists as part of a wider support team.
Is naturopathy the same as hormone therapy or medical treatment?
No. Naturopathic care focuses on nutrition, lifestyle and evidence-informed complementary approaches to hormonal symptoms. Decisions about hormone replacement therapy, diagnostic testing or medications belong with a GP, gynaecologist or endocrinologist.
Where is Sam Lluisé based?
Sam works with women across Australia through secure telehealth, so there is no waiting room or in-person visit required. Her full listing is on the Menopause Resource Hub directory.
What is the Metabolic Balance program?
Metabolic Balance is a structured, food-based nutrition program that Sam uses as part of her personalised plans for some clients. It sits alongside her broader naturopathic care rather than replacing it.
Who is Sam’s care best suited to?
Women in perimenopause or menopause who want unhurried, personalised support that looks at nutrition, lifestyle and hormonal symptoms together, and who want to work alongside their existing medical care rather than instead of it.
Why this matters
Founding Providers are the practitioners who chose to back the Menopause Resource Hub before it was easy to do so. Their willingness to be visible and named is part of what makes the directory worth trusting. Sam is one of them, and her own path through PMDD, fibroids, a hysterectomy and an ongoing relationship with Hashimoto’s and fibromyalgia is part of why her care leans toward being heard first and treated second.
Provider Spotlight is an editorial series featuring practitioners listed on the Menopause Resource Hub. Listings and Spotlights are not clinical endorsements. Always discuss your care with your treating practitioners.
