A menopause coach offers support, education, and accountability to help you take charge of your health and wellbeing through perimenopause and menopause. Coaching is about working towards your own goals with someone in your corner, whether that is building better routines around sleep, movement, food, and stress, or simply understanding what is happening to your body and feeling less alone in it. The coaches listed here have been vetted for a real qualification behind the title and a genuine menopause focus.
How we vet a menopause coach
This is the category where the title means least on its own. Coach is not a protected title, there is no AHPRA registration and no menopause coach register, and anyone can use the name regardless of training. So we look hard at what sits behind it. We favour coaches who hold a recognised coaching qualification, such as accreditation or membership with the Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association (HCANZA), and we give particular weight to coaches who also hold an underlying health qualification, for example as a nurse, dietitian, or other health professional. We do not list coaches who offer hormone or treatment advice, sell protocols or supplements, or make medical claims, because that is outside what coaching is and outside what a coach is qualified to do.
What a coach can and cannot do
A coach helps you make and sustain change. They are well suited to motivation, accountability, habit and lifestyle change, and to helping you understand the transition and prepare for appointments so you get more from them. A coach does not diagnose conditions, does not prescribe or advise on hormone therapy or medication, and is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. If you need a diagnosis or treatment, see a menopause-informed GP. If you are struggling with your mental health, a psychologist or counsellor is the right support. Coaching works best alongside good medical care, not instead of it.
Cost and access
You do not need a referral to work with a coach. Coaching is not covered by Medicare, and is generally not claimable through private health funds, so it is usually paid privately. Coaches often work in packages or programmes rather than single sessions, and many offer a short introductory call so you can see whether they are the right fit before committing. Ask about format, length, and cost when you make contact.
